Queen Of The Catskills Golf Tournament Another Huge Success

STAMFORD-The Seventh Annual Queen of The Catskill’s women’s golf tournament held last Saturday at the Stamford Golf Club was again a huge success.
The winners of the tournament were, as follows:
First Flight
Gross - Nicole Axtell and Janet Marnane placed first with a 68; Jane Adsit and Liz Darling, second, 73; Betsey Baker and Mary Diefendorf; third,77.
Net - Stephanie Brown and Robin Raco, first, 59; Bonnie Locket and Evie Johns, second, 60; Beth Smith and Joanne Deforest, third, 62.
Second Flight
Gross - Marilyn Martin and Diane Keith placed first at 76; Vicky Joshpe and Pauline Dickson, second, 81; Diane Coons and Jeannie Cross, third, 82.
Net - Bev Hartwell and Joanne Rockefeller; first, 61; Ellen Whipple and Lisa Grayson, second, 63; Norine Ryan and Teresa Laurenzo, third with 66.
Third Flight
Gross - Nori Lamport and Katie Myers, first, 82; Jackie Swenson and Jan Hurwitz, second, 83; Ruth Baker and Nancy Golden, third, 85.
Net - Lynn Abarno and Marilyn Carley, first, 60; Anne Matthews and Sherry Bianco, second, 63; Helen Gorlach and Caroline Lavalle, third, 64.
Sue Murphy was closest to the pin on hole eight and closest to the line was Lisa Grayson on hole 13.
According to Yolanda Trappenburg and the organizers of the annual tournament, the event could not take place without the assistance of major supporters, including Chad Josphe, Financial Services Representative with MetLife Financial Group of New York and The National Bank of Delaware County.
The Greater Stamford Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the $10,000 hole in one prize and The Kaaterskill House Coffee Shop in Stamford sponsored the beverage cart.
“We thank these businesses who graciously support this tournament year after year,” said Trappenburg. They include: ABLY Insurance Agency, Audiosears Corp., Brook’s House of B-B-Que, Catskill Country Furniture and Flooring, Catskill Craftsmen Inc., Clark Stone Products, Coldwell Banker Timberland Properties, Country Club Automotive Group, Delaware County Real Estate, Greenwood Auto Body, Karl W. Reynard Insurance, Paraco Fuel, Stamford Gym and Fitness Center and Vlahakis CPA & Associates. Breakfast by TP’s Café, Stamford, and course snacks provided by the Stamford Grand Union.
